The Championships at Stover were extremely well supported, with every tee time taken. The poor weather on the day resulted in only a few withdrawals or nil returns and the vast majority completed their rounds, not getting quite as wet as we had expected. Well done ladies and ‘thank you’. I was not looking forward to the prospect of a cancelled event. Congratulations to Anne Norman from Exeter who, for the third year running, won the Championship Salver with a gross score of 87. The runner-up Badcock Salver went to Stevie Foster from Wrangaton who came very close with a gross 88. The Handicap Cup was won by Linda Holdway from East Devon with a net 72 and the Handicap Runner-up Cup went to Hilary Richards of Stover with a net 74. Valerie Holman from Wrangaton won the Venerable Vets 50 Year Vase with a net 73. For the second year running Wrangaton won the Knowle Shield with the best 3 scores from their team of 4 nominated players.
