DCVLGA Mixed Flitch and Mixed Greensomes 2022

The combined Flitch and Greensomes competition was held at Churston on 1st July.  There were 46 pairs taking part, though sadly there were 17 people who had to withdraw at the last minute, mainly due to covid.  I hope you are all recovering well and sorry you had to miss such an enjoyable day in beautiful weather.  The Churston course was in great condition but nevertheless I found the putting difficult!  My thanks to everyone at Churston for supporting us in running the competition.

The whole day was organised by my Vice Captain, Marion Seward, but sadly, as many of you will know, Marion was taken ill during the day and had to be taken to hospital.  I am pleased to tell you that she is now at home and feeling better.  Nevertheless, on medical advice Marion is having to step down from the Vice Captain role.  I would like to thank Marion for the great contribution she has made since she took office and wish her a speedy return to good health.

I am now looking for a volunteer to take on the Vice Captain role for the remainder of this year and succeed me as Captain in the next.  It is the turn of one of the clubs in the West of Devon to field the next Captain and so I invite anyone from that region to either nominate a candidate or to volunteer themselves.  If you need more information on the duties it entails, please contact me on 01404 814811.

Finally, my congratulations to all the prize winners at Churston.  Full details can now be found on the website under ‘Competitions’, ‘Results’.
