South West Shield

Our second match in the South West Shield was played yesterday 8th July vs Somerset at Minehead and West Somerset GC.  Unfortunately we were unable to repeat our win from the week before vs Cornwall, losing 11/2 to 51/2.  However well done to everyone who played on what was an extremely challenging course.  Never have I heard so many “where’s the next tee”, “where’s the fairway”, which green are we aiming for”.  So all things considered I think we did well just to finish the round! 

I would like to thank all the Devon ladies who played, but in particular those ladies who came forward at the last minute to fill spaces where others had pulled out.  It’s not easy pulling a team together when there is quite a bit of travelling involved so having cancellations late in the day does tend to make  it rather challenging.  So well done to all who took part.
